About Tom Whiting:
Tom attended Framingham State College (1977-1981) as a studio art major and art history minor. When his children were young, Tom supervised and created the decorations for several school and church events. For a long time, Tom’s art career took second place to family life and a career in commercial real estate appraisal.
At the encouragement of friends and family, Tom got a studio at the Brush Art Gallery & Studios in 2020 where he focused on digital drawing and painting, which appeals to him because of its similarity to working with physical art tools. Very similar to painting and drawing with physical media, Tom works mostly in a realistic style. The past year or so, Tom has focused on building his skill set which you can see in this Quebec City show.
About Claire Gagnon:
Claire is an award-winning acrylic painter with an impressionistic/realistic style. Founder of Chez Claire Art School in 2018, she has been teaching painting and drawing to adults for over 5 years while continuing to produce vibrant acrylic paintings. Her studio is at the Brush Art Gallery & Studios, Lowell, MA.
Claire started painting in 1996 in Montreal, Quebec, where she studied with Micheline Raymond, Canadian award-winning artist in her private art school Creativ’Art. She gets her inspiration from such masters as Monet, Turner, Renoir, Hopper, and many others. She studied under several New England great masters including Don Demers, Charles Movali, David Curtis, Tom Gill, and David Lussier. Studying with each of them broadened her skills and helped her evolve as an artist, developing a sense of design and balance to create paintings that carry.
